Eugenio Riva

Riva has spent more than 25 years in Australia but hails from Como in northern Italy. Some of his strongest early memories are of his grandmother’s cooking, which included risotto, poached mountain trout and soups with rice, garlic and parsley.

Eugenio’s breakthrough venture in Darlinghurst, Ristorante Riva, opened to rave reviews in 1996 and was promptly awarded one chef’s hat.  After 10 years at Ristorante Riva, Eugenio travelled and worked in restaurants abroad.

Riva’s signature style permeates the entire Uccello menu, resulting in elegant yet accessible regional Italian dishes. Using a combination of Modern and classic techniques, Eugenio creates a truly relaxed Mediterranean inspired dining experience.
