Where can we park?

The Newport has complimentary parking available for its guests via Queens Parade. Limited street parking is also available in the surrounding areas, but please be mindful not to block resident's driveways.

Where is the closest water access for boats?

 Rowell Marina – down the road from The Newport via Queens Parade 

Are kids allowed?

Yes. All minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian at all times. We have a games area for adults and kids to enjoy along with kid friendly menu options. All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Kids are not allowed in the Public Bar, however we have a small area that can accommodate minors as long as they are in the company of a responsible adult, which is located adjacent to the public bar steps into the beer garden.

Will there be Kids activities?

Kid’s activities change every weekend and week depending on the time of year. Please see our Entertainment Menu on our website for any upcoming activities! 

What entertainment will there be?

Can I bring a dog?

Yes! As long as they are on a leash at ALL times. 

Is the Newport BYO?

No. We are a fully licensed venue, BYO is not permitted.

Is bus transport available?

7 Seater Kombi Van which runs upon request on Friday evening and from 11:30am Sat & Sun – No. is 0428 580 984 – only call when service is running
Public bus services are available.

From Sydney CBD - The L90 is the most direct bus, it drops you directly out the front of The Newport. You can hop on this bus from the Queen Victoria Building or Wynyard bus stop stand C. This bus stops at all major bus stops along Military road including Warringah Mall from the CBD to Palm Beach.

From Manly -  The 155 bus from Manly to Warringah Mall is your best option. From Warringah Mall you can get an L90 or L88 bus directly to The Newport.

Can I make a Group booking?

Bookings are now available at the Newport. Contact our Group Bookings team on [email protected] or 9254 8088 to book your next event today.

If I have a Group Booking, what do I do on arrival?

On arrival, please make your way over to The Pergola where our wonderful staff will direct you to your space

If I have a Group Booking, what happens if I arrive early?

No problem at all, please see the staff on arrival and let them know. If your space is not available until the booking time, you are welcome to use the venue as you wish and our staff will show you to the space when ready

If I have a Lunch Group Booking, what happens when my booking time finishes?

You are more than welcome to stay in the venue, however we may need your space back to accommodate an evening booking

If I have a Group Booking, how is my deposit used?

Your deposit can be used towards Food or beverage (Including cake orders). You’re welcome to pre-order, or your host will take your order on the day.

If I have a Group Booking, what happens if I don’t use all my deposit?

Deposits are non-refundable. The deposit must be spent in full on the day of your booking, any balance remaining will not be refunded.

If I have a Group Booking, will all of my guests have a seat?

A group booking means you will have a designated area of the bar reserved for your group, whilst the rest of the bar remains open to the public. All bookings are designated an area with a mix of sitting and standing (if more than 12 guests). Perfect for a drinks & nibbles style booking.

Please note that we don’t rope of the areas or allocate a seat for everyone for larger groups. 

I have guests with Allergens, will they be accommodated?

Yes. All reasonable effort will be taken to accommodate guest allergens.

Please note that our menu is prepared in a kitchen that handles nuts, shellfish and gluten. Whilst all reasonable efforts are taken to accommodate guest dietary needs, we cannot guarantee that our food will be allergen free.

Can I bring decorations?

Balloons and streamers are not permitted

Can I bring a cake?

Yes. Cakeage fee will be charged if you would like the cake to be cut up and served by our chefs. Alternatively, you can pre-order a cake from The Newport. We do not offer cake knives to guests to cut the cake and they cannot bring one in with them. 

What happens if it rains?

The Newport is predominately an outdoor venue (80% outdoors), with limited undercover areas. All group Bar Bookings in a premium space will be accommodated as priority in an undercover area. Casual Bookings will not be relocated in the event of rain. 

Where do I order on the day?

If you have a group booking in a premium space, you will have a dedicated host looking after you who will take orders. For casual bookings and general patrons, you’re welcome to order from the various bar/food outlets.

When will the rest of the venue re-open?

Due to the sheer scale of the property, Merivale has planned a gradual and thoughtful approach to it’s redevelopment, with stages two and three set to be revealed
