xChange Launches at ivy’s The Den
21.04.2011
Every Tuesday evening from 3 May, Merivale and Daily Addict will host Xchange, a series of weekly forums for spirited debate, lively conversation and ladylike luxury.
Hosted in the den, ivy’s opulent lounge bar, Xchange will facilitate a coming together of minds – over a glass of champagne – with some of Australia’s leading ladies, hand selected as speakers covering such topics as fashion, food and wine and women in business.
Xchange will also tackle burning questions like, ‘Will having a baby ruin your career?’ and ‘Should women age gracefully?’ for the chosen panel to discuss. From 6.30pm until 8.00pm, ladies will enjoy complimentary canapés each week along with $10 Chandon flutes and cocktails.
The first public Xchange event will be held on 3 May with keynote speaker Kim McKay, Director of Klick Communications asking, ‘is social media anti-social?’
May’s event schedule covers a variety of topics and speakers:
• 10 May – ‘Is wine appreciation only for wankers?’ (Wine appreciation basics for women) presented by Sharon Wild, Director of Wild About Wine.
• 17 May – ‘The substance of style: What is it and how can you get it?’ presented by Kristen Denny from Get Stylized and Deefusion Project and Jodie Fox from Shoes of Prey.
• 24 May – ‘Does everyone have a book in them (and how can they get it out?)’ presented by Valerie Khoo, Sydney Writer’s Centre, MJ Hearle, ‘Winter’s Shadow’ author (Pan McMillan) and ‘Paris Dreaming’ author Anita Heiss (Random House).
• 31 May – ‘Will having a baby ruin your career?’ Libby Gorr, Broadcaster and author of The A to Z of Mummy Manners: An Etiquette Guide’
