Taboo (Black Eyed Peas) Australian Tour Postponed

24.01.2012

Experience Entertainment has postponed its Australian tour of Black Eyed Peas star Taboo, due to a death in the star’s immediate family.  Taboo’s US-based management team said the star, real name Jaime Louis Gomez, will take the time to be at his mother's side and support his family as they mourn the loss of his grandfather.

Taboo issued this statement: "As much as I was looking forward to coming to Australia, family is the most important thing. I apologize to the fans, the promoter Experience Entertainment, and everyone involved but I need to take this time to be present and available to my entire family and most importantly my mother who has lost her father".

Graham Cordery, Experience Entertainment director, is currently working with Taboo’s management to reschedule what will be Taboo’s debut Australian tour without the Black Eyed Peas.

“We extend our deepest sympathies to Taboo and his family at this difficult time and also apologise to all of his Australian fans,” he said. “We can assure fans that work is in progress to reschedule the tour dates at the earliest opportunity, look out for an announcement soon.”

Taboo was to perform a series of live DJ shows around Australia, including ivy Pool on Australia Day under the Experience Entertainment brand “experience...”

Experience Entertainment have announced that they’ve replaced the highly coveted headline slot on Australia Day at ivy Pool with the globally recognised DJ Yoda (UK), plus Melbourne-based Ajax who jets in to play a rare party/mash-up set.  Awarded No. 6 in Music Radar's '20 Greatest DJs of All Time' list, DJ Yoda is a legendary party-starter and the undisputed king of eclectic party sets - A style that has seen him work with everyone from Amy Winehouse, Mark Ronson, Fatboy Slim and become a regular fixture on the world's top festival stages, including the legendary Glastonbury UK.

“We have replaced Taboo with another world-class artist- the UK’s renowned turntablist DJ Yoda,” Graham Cordery said. “Due to the unprecedented demand for Yoda at the other dates on his current Australian tour, he was a natural choice to headline our Australia Day event and we extend our appreciation to Yoda for stepping in to rock the party”
