Merivale Scores Hat Trick at 2011 AHA Awards

Merivale scooped a total of three awards last night at the 2011 National AHA Awards for Excellence with Establishment’s three hatted est., ivy and Merivale Group Bars Manager, Mike Enright all receiving awards.

Merivale CEO, Justin Hemmes said, “I’m thrilled with the result from this year’s AHA awards and the industry recognition that these represent. Receiving an award in the bar, restaurant and staff categories really reinforces what Merivale stands for; high quality product, great guest service and bags of fun.”

The AHA named est. ‘Best Restaurant – Metropolitan’ further cementing its reputation as one of Sydney’s finest restaurants and is a welcomed addition to the nine consecutive three hat honours bestowed by the SMH Good Food Awards since 2003.

“Peter Doyle and the team at est. constantly impress me with their dedication to fine dining excellence and these accolades are 100% a credit to them.” Justin said.

ivy was named ‘Best Entertainment Venue’ after a fun filled 2010 calendar of entertainment including, Saturday’s pure ivy; Marco Polo at Pool Club; New Year’s Eve’s Pacha and  New Year’s Day’s Ministry of Sound events and Merivale’s annual food festival, March into Merivale.

To complete the hat trick, Mike Enright added ‘Bartender of the Year’ to his string of titles and awards earned throughout his 20 year career. As Merivale’s Group Bars Manager, Mike oversees the bar and cocktail menus of all Merivale bars including the newly opened El Loco . Mike has also been integral in the promotion of the annual World Cocktail Week campaign here in Australia.
