Cure Our Kids is thrilled to announce they are partnering with Merivale to hold a Melbourne Cup Fundraising luncheon at Merivale’s ivy room - The Kids Cup at ivy’. The event kicks off on Tuesday 1 November at 12.00noon. Tickets on sale now through www.thekidscup.com.au or Merivale reservations.

Cure Our Kids provides a range of support services to improve quality of life for children with cancer and their families. Cure Our Kids relies entirely on the support of the community through donations and fundraising events to deliver vital support services to children with cancer and their families.

Comedian and MIX 106.5 breakfast host Claire Hooper will MC The Kids Cup at Ivy, which will take on all of the atmosphere and excitement of the Melbourne Cup carnival. Attendees are encouraged to don their frocks and suits and will enjoy a delicious three course lunch with beverages and a champagne bar in service all afternoon. There will be cup sweeps and live television coverage on the big screens. When the race is over, a DJ will kick off the evening’s proceedings, with a cash bar available in the private venue for those that want to continue their Melbourne Cup celebrations!

On the fundraising side, a silent auction Calcutta will be run and amongst the prizes to be auctioned off include framed paintings and drawings done by some of the children affected by cancer. A Wish List will be created for the event where people will have the opportunity to buy any of the items on the Wish List for the children.

Never far from people’s minds will be the reason behind this event, the many children every year who are diagnosed with cancer and their family members who walk every step of the journey with them. Cure Our Kids CEO Carolyn Dodds says “The Melbourne Cup has always featured on our fundraising calendar in some way but this year, with Merivale’s support, we can make it bigger and better than ever and really put our stamp on the Sydney Racing Event Calendar.”

Merivale CEO Justin Hemmes says, “We are proud to support Cure Our Kids and provide them with one of our premier venues for this year’s cup day. Merivale’s Melbourne Cup events are always very successful and I have no doubt The Kids Cup at ivy will be too, and importantly, it will raise much needed funds for Cure Our Kids.“
