March into Merivale – Back with a Bang in 2012!

03.02.2012

March into Merivale has been running for four years now, how will this year be different?
What’s changed is our restaurant and bar portfolio which has expanded a lot in the last four years, which means more specialty events and a bigger launch party.

Each year we aim to create new, unique and fresh events which are engaging for patrons as well as keeping the favourites in there. This year, we’ll raise the bar with our launch party and offer something much more impressive so grab your ticket!

The one thing that hasn’t changed is our Meal Deal price point – it’s still $33 lunch and dinner menus and it is the same as it was when we started March into Merivale four years ago. So this year will be better value than ever. Check out participating restaurants and bars as well as menus here.

So why March into Merivale?
March into Merivale gives so many people the opportunity to come along and see what our venues and chefs are all about. It really is a great way for people to try something new and discover new favourites in an inexpensive way.

What can guests expect from the Launch Party on Thurs 16 Feb?
We’re shutting off Ash Street and filling it and the ivy room with 13 food stalls, 4 bars and for $20 you’ll get eight food/drink tokens, exciting live entertainment and a really great night out. It’s the perfect way to sample the amazing food our chefs produce in a really accessible and fun way.

The $33 Meal Deal – still the best value…
We‘ve been offering the $33 lunch and dinner menus, which includes a main meal with a glass of wine or beer, for the four years March into Merivale has been running. We’ve kept it the same price throughout that time. This year it’s on offer again in all our restaurants including est., Uccello, Felix & Ms.G’s.

We’re also offering $33 meal deals for two people at participating pubs and bars which is a really good deal – 30 Knots, Slip Inn, CBD Hotel, Royal George and El Loco.

Special events to look out for?
This year we have 66 events across 22 Merivale venues. Every one of those events is a highlight in a different kind of way. Check them out, they sell out fast.

Each year we create a theme for campaign and have fun with our chefs – so how did EAT MY WORDS come about?

March into Merivale 2012 inspiration came from the chefs’ food philosophy. In our planning, they each talked about what inspired them to cook and their food passions.

From this, we found out what makes our chefs tick. For Jowett Yu from Ms. G, it’s bacon. He loves the stuff and will bore you silly talking about it.  Whereas Paul Donnelly from El Loco is all about respecting the produce, where it came from and doing it justice when you serve it.  And Alfie Spina, the big softy from Ash St Cellar, believes in cooking from the heart.  So each chef has their own mantras and beliefs but they share their passion for food with each other.

March into Merivale launches Thurs 16 Feb and the events extend over 7 weeks. For all tickets and event details, please head to merivale.com.au/whats-on/type/march-into-merivale
